Headache and Migraine Treatment in Echuca

Headaches are one of the most common presentations at Echuca Spine Studio, and one of the most frequently under-investigated. Many people accept them as a normal part of life, or manage them with pain relief without ever looking at the cause. Whether you experience tension headaches, cervicogenic headaches, or migraines, understanding what is driving them is the first and most important step.

Are you experiencing any of the following?

  • Recurring headaches across the forehead, temples, or behind the eyes

  • Tension that builds through the neck and into the base of the skull

  • Headaches that are worse after screen time, driving, or prolonged sitting

  • Head pain that wakes you, or is worst first thing in the morning

  • Intense, often one-sided pain lasting hours or days

  • Nausea or sensitivity to light and sound during an episode

  • Visual disturbances or aura before a headache begins

  • Headaches that respond temporarily to pain relief but keep returning

Common causes and contributing factors to headaches and migraines

  • Cervicogenic headaches originating from the cervical spine

  • Upper neck joint restriction or muscle tension

  • Forward head posture and sustained desk or device posture

  • Jaw tension or clenching

  • Hormonal fluctuations as a migraine trigger

  • Stress, disrupted sleep, or dehydration as contributing factors

  • Neurological factors in migraine, a complex condition in its own right

How we approach headaches and migraines

Not all headaches have the same source, and chiropractic care is not appropriate for every type. Dr Tia's priority is to correctly identify what you are experiencing through a thorough case history and physical examination, including the pattern, frequency, and any known triggers.

Where there is a cervical spine or musculoskeletal component, care may include adjustments, soft tissue work, and postural advice. For people with migraines, some find that addressing neck tension and spinal function supports their broader management, but Dr Tia will never position chiropractic as a standalone solution for complex neurological presentations.

If your headaches warrant further investigation or specialist input, she will tell you clearly and refer you promptly. If you have seen a neurologist or GP and have relevant reports or investigations, please bring these to your first appointment.
